Boomphones is a Los Angeles-based company with an obsession for designing ultra-portable audio products that allow music lovers to create, inspire, and share amazing sound.

Its flagship product, the Phantom, is the first-ever headphones that can transform into a boombox with just the push of a button.  MTV Geek! called it “simply a great idea” when the product was unveiled at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and the Phantom has steadily gained traction with consumers since its official launch in August 2012.

Designed with four drivers – two internal drivers for private listening, and two external drivers designed to share with friends or amp up your party.  Boomphones Phantoms have the power, and the multifunctional appeal, to revolutionize the way consumers listen, share and experience music.  LED lights indicate which mode is in action: glowing white when the headphones are internally amplified, red when you push the bomb icon to blast the external speakers in “boombox” mode.

The headphones allow you to make and answer phone calls, whether listening privately or,  with the push of a button, switching to external speakerphone mode.  Two audio cables are included, one with an integrated microphone, volume control and push-to-talk capabilities.  This makes them convenient for people who use their phones to listen to music – no need to switch cables, to talk directly into your phone.  You can also plug them into your computer, electric guitar (with adapter), keyboard, beat machine, to be used as a portable amp.  For all the DJs, included is a 6.3 mm jack that you can connect directly to your equipment.

Comfortable to wear, Boomphones Phantoms are available in matte black and polished white, with four new colors – red, green, blue, and pink – introduced in October 2013.  The product uses a built-in lithium battery that’s easily rechargeable through a mini-USB, providing 10 hours of internal use and 5 hours of external use.  The Phantom retails for $149.95 (MSRP).
